Guest Speaker: Dr. Simon Elliott – Award Winning Author, Historian, Archaeologist
Join us for our black tie Spring dinner in the splendid surroundings of Tallow Chandlers’ Hall. The Hall dates from 1672 and has a well-deserved reputation as one of the most welcoming and well preserved of London’s livery halls. Guests will enjoy a sumptuous three course dinner with fine wines and City traditions within the superb and unique 17th Century oak panelled Hall.
Our guest speaker for the evening is Dr. Simon Elliott, award winning author, historian, archaeologist and City of London Corporation’s Roman expert. Simon will talk about Roman London and how it has always been a place of business and why the end of the Roman presence in Britain still shapes our relationship with the continent today.
Also on the night we will announce the winners of the Clarity in Communications Award and this year’s recipient of the Herald’s Award.
The Clarity in Communications prize is awarded for excellence in communications. It recognises non-professional communications activity linked to the livery movement and the charitable sector. The panel of judges include the Masters of the Company of Public Relations Practitioners and the Worshipful Company of Glaziers & Painters of Glass and Mr Bob Roberts, Communications Director of the City of London Corporation.
The Herald’s Award is an honorary award given by the Company’s Court to agencies and professional communicators to honour those who, in the opinion of the Court, have made a significant contribution to the charity sector.
