The Lord Mayor’s Show: 10.Nov.2018

The 2018 Lord Mayor’s Show is on Saturday 10 November.

The Lord Mayor’s Show connects the 21st century City to its medieval roots. For over 800 years each newly elected Lord Mayor of London has made his or her way upriver to Westminster to swear loyalty to the Crown. Over the centuries their journey grew into the riotous medieval pageant known as the Lord Mayor’s Show, the first outside event ever to be shown live on television and now the oldest and grandest civic procession in the world.

There are events all day and many other family activities and special exhibitions will be laid on in the area. From the Lord Mayor’s arrival by river to the fireworks finale, the Lord Mayor’s Day is packed with spectacle.

The Company of Public Relations Practitioners has a place in The Lord Mayor’s Procession as part of the Modern Livery Companies float.

The Lord Mayor’s Procession fills the whole area between Mansion House and the Royal Courts of Justice in Aldwych. It travels out via St Paul’s between 11:00am and 12:30pm, and returns by the embankment between 1:00pm and 2:30pm.

Members of the Company are invited to take part, please indicate your interest to clerk@prcompany.org.
