Sheep Drive 2017

It is a Freeman’s right to drive sheep over London Bridge!

This year the famous Sheep Drive over London Bridge, led by celebrity chef Mary Berry, was bigger and better than ever before. Mary joined Freeman of the City of London in driving sheep over London Bridge, practising an ancient rite and raising money for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal and the Woolmen’s Charitable Trust.

Hosted by the Worshipful Company of Woolmen, one of London’s oldest Livery Companies, the annual sheep drive raises tens of thousands of pounds for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal.

The Company’s PR support for the drive, under Vickie Sheriff’s excellent management, was exceptionally good this year and the whole event went incredibly well, our PR support gained impressive media coverage for the event.

The Sheep Drive offers the Company a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the life of the civic City and to increase our profile and connections there.  Thank you to Vickie Sheriff, Claire Parker, Jason Groves and Jill Pearcy, all of whom exercised their right as Freemen this year. The Drive’s official photos were kindly taken by Freeman Sarah Wait’s husband Andy Wait.
